Nick Brooks

Nick found triathlon later in life, having been an out-of-shape smoker for many years. From making the decision to lead a healthier life, and despite working 60+ hours a week as a Chef, in just 2 years Nick went from his first ever sprint triathlon in 2010, to completing races across the whole spectrum of distances around the world. Nick also has multiple marathon finishes, as well as forays into cyclocross, mountain trail Ultras and off-road multisport racing.

Having taken triathlon to heart, Nick made the decision to surround himself with the sport, changing careers to become the General Manager of an Open Water Swim venue, training as a Wattbike instructor, and eventually becoming an Ironman U Certified Triathlon Coach, specialising in helping newcomers to the sport.

Meet Nick

My philosophy is that of education, information and balance, the ‘why’s as much as the ‘whats’. I want you to understand the purpose of every session, to empower your training. Triathlon should be a part of your life, but not take it over. Everyone is different, and it’s important to me to get to know not just the athlete, but also their family and work commitments, likes and dislikes and training styles and preferences.

It should be fun too, I'm not about 'Pain Caves' and 'Sufferfests'. I'm here to support and encourage you on your triathlon path. Great planning, consistent, sustainable training and well considered equipment and nutrition choices will make your journey an adventure, not a chore.
