Sion first took part in triathlon in 2015 after being a highly competitive rower in his teens representing Wales as a junior at international level 3 years running. Having then made the switch to multisport he has never looked back and has made a name for himself in the Welsh triathlon scene.
From moving to triathlon from rowing he has had great success as an age grouper in many of the well know local events and has been Welsh age group champion at multiple distances. As part of his pursuit of knowledge he travelled to Australia where he studied to coach and got hands on experience working with some of the best in the business for twelve months, before completing his ITCA accreditation level 3 in sports science followed by a degree In sports performance psychology.
“I’m in my twenties and recently moved to Stockport, previously based in Bangor, Gwynedd right on the door step of the mountains of Snowdonia and the picturesque trails and beaches of Anglesey. I have always been involved in sport of some level from boxing and rowing to road cycling, I just can't get enough of it. My aspirations are to gain my pro license and coach at an elite level.
I started studying various coaching courses when I was 14 and since then I have never not been doing a course of some sort! My passion and hobbies are my sports so any spare time i get I will be swimming, cycling or running. If I’m not participating, I’m coaching and if I’m not coaching, I’m studying!"
