About Ollie

Originally from Essex, Ollie Mountstephens, is now based on the western edge of the county in Epping Forest. He has had a love for sport from a young age and has been a competitive runner for most of his adult life. After completing a sports science degree at the acclaimed Loughborough university he has spent over 15 years working in media & advertising in London so truly understands the challenge of fitting consistent training around a busy job, travel and day-to-day life. Having been part of TTT for the last 6 years, mentored by head coach Chris Standidge he has competed across all triathlon distances from sprint to Ironman and running distance from 5k to ultra marathons with great success.

Meet Ollie

I love working with athletes who want to push themselves to new limits—whether that’s completing their first race or stepping up to a level they didn’t think possible. I also particularly enjoy working with busy athletes who want to maximise their potential and push their limits alongside demanding careers and lifestyles.

My coaching ethos is built around helping you understand why you’re doing each session, not just completing it. By bringing you into the process, I aim to build confidence, consistency and long-term progression.

I take a hybrid approach, blending the wealth of data we have available along with feel and intuition, making sure I’m adapting to your needs rather than following a one-size-fits-all model whilst ensuring the process is enjoyable throughout.

As a long term coached athlete myself I’ve experienced first-hand the value of truly bespoke coaching and the difference it can make when training is tailored to the individual. From a personal perspective, the discipline and accountability of having a coach has taken me to unforeseen heights.

Making the most of the time you have is something I place a big emphasis on with the athletes I work with. Early mornings, long workdays and packed social schedules are part of our busy lives so consistency definitely doesn’t come from having a clear diary and perfect conditions, it comes from making training work in the real world.

From hard threshold swim sessions to long runs through the forest and full days out on the bike, I genuinely enjoy every aspect of participating in the sport and hopefullybring that same energy and enthusiasm into my coaching.

Ultimately, as with most things, I believe you get out what you put in but with the right structure, support and consistency, athletes are capable of far more than they often realise.
