Rob has been involved in sport for most of his life coming through the junior elite development program in Modern Pentathlon to compete at senior elite level all over the world. He has represented Great Britain in multiple World cups, World and European Championships and was crowned senior British Modern Pentathlon Champion in 2012. Now a full-time coach with pentathlon GB, he has coached national champions at many age groups. This sporting background naturally lent itself to triathlon which Rob first took up 10 years ago to discover that he had a natural talent picking up numerous age group and outright wins over the years in both multisport and running events.
Meet Rob:
My experience with multi-sport started with modern pentathlon where I competed at a senior elite level. Once I moved on from professional sport I still had passion for multi-sport and triathlon was a great opportunity to continue it. This sporting journey has also led me into the world of endurance gravel racing and off-road triathlon which have been great ways to challenge myself and keep training exciting!
I have over a decade of professional coaching experience having coached youth athletes and adults in high performance swimming, triathlon and modern pentathlon programmes alongside providing single sport services through a mixture of in-person and virtual coaching. Capitalising on my degree in Exercise Physiology from Loughborough University and MSc in Coaching Science I bring an evidence based, athlete centre approach to my coaching which has seen athletes I've coach athletes from novice through to world championship level.
I believe this athlete centred approach allows me harness my knowledge and experience of what it takes to deliver peak performance and support athletes effectively as they work towards their goals while also balancing training with the rest of what life throws at us.
