Meet Vicky
Having grown up as a very not sporty child, I’d never describe myself as a natural athlete. It wasn’t until I was 17, overweight and struggling with chronic pain from hypermobile joints that I started doing any real exercise. I soon found love in pushing myself. I spent four years as a deeply average rower and loved the sense of community and achievement that I found in sport.
I stumbled into triathlon after cycling a lot for fitness and starting to look for something to train for. Not knowing anything about the world of bike racing, I decided to give triathlon a go, figuring that I could (just about) both run and swim. I reached out to TTT almost immediately and have been a coached athlete and an active member of the community ever since.
Over the years, I’ve achieved a lot more in triathlon than I would have dreamt to be possible, picking up wins and podiums in races from sprint up to middle distance. I’ve found a lot of power in consistency and backing up sessions over the years. I also really believe in the power of the squad and training with TTT athletes who are better, stronger and faster than me has only helped me on my journey. Endurance sport can be lonely, but, with the power of the community, it’s only helped me massively broaden my social circle and I’m regularly training and racing with friends I’ve made through TTT.
As a coach, I believe in passing on what I’ve learnt. Since starting triathlon, at different points in my journey, I’ve juggled training with a standard 40 hour working week, shift work and being a student. I’ve experienced the highs of racing beyond the level I could have dreamt of when I started and the lows of recovering from serious injury.
I believe in the power of conversation and that a good coaching relationship is built on a foundation of trust. I want to get to know my athletes so I can tailor their sessions to what they need as an athlete and as a person to fit around both their goals and their lives. I love helping people achieve things they didn’t think were possible. Living in London, I am involved in the TTT community we’ve built over the years and am always getting involved in our regular community events. Please get in touch about how I can help you on your journey.
