Haydn Gibson Triathlon Coach

Meet Haydn

I began my triathlon journey at the start of 2020 when gyms closed and I suddenly found myself unsure of what to do next. Before this, my training was heavily focused on running, strength work and powerlifting, so stepping into multisport was a completely new challenge.

My passion for the sport has grown tremendously. As an engineer, I understand the discipline, structure, and balance it takes to pursue ambitious goals while juggling work, social life, and training. My purpose and the reason I coach, is to help others achieve what they may believe is impossible or out of reach. I’m here to make the hard things possible.

My coaching style is all about steady progress, building confidence bit by bit, and creating training that actually fits into real life. I like to keep things simple and structured, helping athletes improve through consistent habits and goals that feel achievable. I’m a big believer in learning as you go, adapting when you need to, and celebrating the small wins that eventually turn into the big ones. As a developing coach, I’m growing right alongside the athletes I work with, bringing plenty of energy, curiosity, and genuine excitement for helping people succeed.

Growing up in a highly competitive household and looking up to my dad, who played football at a professional level, I’ve always wanted to be involved in sport. I thrive on stepping into new and challenging situations. Since starting, I’ve completed multiple Ironman races and ultra-trail events, including a 100-mile race along the South West Coast Path.

In the early days, I couldn’t run 5 km without stopping, but I quickly became fascinated with pushing my limits. Before long, I progressed from 5 km runs to marathons, ultra-endurance trail events, and full iron-distance racing. I became captivated by discovering what the body is truly capable of.
