Meet Sarah
I started off in life being somewhat of a tomboy, growing up with my dad and working on 8,000bhp Top Fuel Dragsters easily led me down the path of doing a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering at Loughborough University. I spent many years working in heavy industry, but then at the age of 30 decided I needed a change! I re skilled as a Personal Trainer. With clients ranging in age from 14 to 94, I have worked with a broad range of athletes to achieve many different things at different levels,
I had been introduced to road cycling by my dad in my mid twenties, and spent years riding local sportives with him all around Suffolk and Norfolk. I ended up doing a time trial and my understanding of hard work began there.
With much encouragement from dad I joined Team Bottrill in 2018 and immersed myself in the UK Time Trialling scene. Lockdown hit, so fast forward a few years to a friend who kept pestering me to try doing a triathlon. With a few years off the bike and the fact I couldn’t do front crawl this took a while before I finally gave in! I learned how to swim front crawl, dusted off the bike and gave it a go. Unfortunately, I lost my biggest cheerleader, my dad, 6 weeks before my first triathlon. So I turned up racing with him very much in my heart, and, much to my amazement, managed to win my age group. Well that was it, I was hooked. Motivated by that result I took part in a lot of the local triathlons and managed to win some of these events, and again found my passion for time trialling. My grief from losing my dad has given me the biggest drive and determination to train hard and perform to the best of my ability.
I joined TTT in 2024 and have since completed longer distance triathlons as well as developed my abilities in all disciplines of the sport. I love helping people to challenge themselves and try new things, and also am a firm believer that people need to enjoy it and have a bit of fun at the same time!
About Sarah
Sarah came to triathlon after many years racing cycling time trials. Not being a natural swimmer or runner, she has worked with several coaches within TTT to improve on each discipline. She can help athletes understand their weaknesses and how they can improve to perform better coming from a position of understanding having been through this process herself.
Sarah loves working with athletes at all levels, from beginners seeking their first achievements within swim, bike and run, to more seasoned athletes looking to improve their performance and hit specific targets. Sarah is also a windsurfer and horse rider, and was a keen Olympic Weightlifter, so has a broad knowledge of training for other sports around triathlon.
