Overview

Brian’s endurance journey began in 2007 when a friend challenged him to take part in a triathlon. He accepted — and has been hooked ever since. With a strong foundation as a successful Services athlete across multiple sports, Brian brought his competitive mindset to the world of triathlon, chasing qualification for GB age-group teams with passion and persistence.

His sporting journey has taken him through a range of disciplines — from national championships on the velodrome to criterium racing, ultra marathons, and even world record attempts, including a 100-mile underwater cycle challenge.

After leaving the Services, Brian formalised his coaching expertise with a Diploma in Fitness Training & Sports Therapy and has since built a broad portfolio of qualifications to support athletes of all levels. Following a break due to work and family commitments, he returned to racing and achieved age-group qualification for the 2023 World Sprint Duathlon Championships.

Now focused on qualifying across sprint duathlon, sprint triathlon, and Olympic distance events, Brian continues to integrate performance testing, bike fitting, and sports science into his own training — all with the goal of helping others reach their potential.

Meet Brian

A former Royal Marines Commando and firefighter, Brian has dedicated his life to the pursuit of excellence in fitness, sport, and personal development. His diverse athletic background and first-hand experience in high-performance environments give him a unique perspective as both coach and competitor.

He has competed at a high level across multiple disciplines — including bobsleigh, track cycling, running, and triathlon — and brings to his coaching practice the values instilled during his military career: excellence, integrity, self-discipline, and humility.

As a father, and working professional, Brian understands the balance required to train and perform while managing life’s demands. This lived experience helps him support others — whether they’re aiming to complete their first event or represent their country in age-group competition.

“Coaching is more than training plans. It’s about unlocking belief, building consistency, and celebrating progress. If I can help someone achieve their personal best — or even dream bigger — that’s a win.”

Brian works with athletes nationwide online as well as his local area of Surrey and London
